Oaty Mocha Hot Smoothie

Serves : 1

Ingredients

  • 15g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 240ml coconut or unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 x shot of espresso (or 1 tsp instant coffee granules mixed with 2 tbsp water)
  • 4 tbsp rolled oats (Flahavans Irish Oats optimal)
  • ½ a ripe, medium sized banana
  • 10 hazelnuts
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cold water

Directions

Add the dark chocolate to a jug, pour in the milk and the espresso. Microwave until the mixture is warm and the chocolate has melted (you can do this in a pan if you prefer).  Place the oats, banana, hazelnuts, chia seeds, cinnamon, the water and approx. a fifth of the milk mixture to your smoothie maker or blender. Add in an extra splash of cold water if you think the liquid is too warm. Blend on high for a minute until the oats and chia seeds have been completely blended. Whilst it’s blending, heat the rest of the milk mixture until hot, but not boiling. Pour the blended oat mix into your cup, stir in the milk/chocolate mix and enjoy 🙂

  • 1 heaped tsp. coconut butter (optional)
  • 1/3 of a banana
  • 4-6 ice cubes

Directions

Process all ingredients until smooth (about 30 seconds).

Add 4-6 ice and process until nice and smooth.

Serve immediately.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 1 handful of kale
  • ½ cucumber
  • 200ml almond milk
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil
  • 50g soaked almonds (I did this overnight but 20 mins is enough)
  • 25g soaked cashews
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

Directions

Start by blending with the avocado, liquids and cucumber. Next add the oil and the leaves and then add the soaked nuts, the seeds and blend at a high speed until smooth.
